Who we are
Our SOS Data Recovery brand covers one specific line of work: data recovery and technical advice on preserving information. More than 25 years of practice, beginning in Peru in 1999, have turned years of laboratory work into technical criteria and procedures of our own.
Our history
-
1999–2005: the beginning, in Peru
Our track record began in 1999 in Peru, where we started practising data recovery. That technical experience became the foundation for the work we later developed in Venezuela.
-
2005–2009: occasional work in Venezuela
From 2005 we carried out data recovery in Venezuela with the technical experience already established in Peru. During those years we handled cases occasionally, without a permanent commercial structure, because demand in the country did not yet justify one.
-
2009–2010: demand grows
Between 2009 and 2010 the need for specialist data recovery grew steadily. That change led us to take the next step: opening an office in Venezuela and serving the market permanently.
-
2011: Tecnología y Negocios del Caribe C.A. is founded
In 2011 the company was incorporated and commercial operations began with the opening of our office in Venezuela. Since then we have served organisations and individuals continuously, under the SOS Data Recovery brand.
-
2014: an alliance that widens our reach
In 2014 we began working alongside IT & Data Services S.A. de C.V. (itdataservices.net) in Mexico. Both companies are independent of each other and work to shared technical standards and methodology, which lets us offer a consistent service across the region.

Today
With more than 25 years of experience, origins in Peru and a presence in Venezuela, Peru and Mexico, along with clients in other countries such as Colombia and Bolivia, we continue to strengthen our applied research and our services, with the same commitment throughout: to look after the information of those who trust us with it.

An applied research approach
Every storage medium fails differently depending on its manufacturer, its technological generation and the conditions under which it stopped working. That is why we treat each case as a research problem: we analyse the medium, form a diagnosis, define a plan of intervention and document the results. That cycle of analysis, testing and continuous improvement is the basis of our work.
Our applied research focuses on understanding how the various storage media fail and how they can be recovered as the technology evolves, and on developing services that help organisations prevent the loss of information in the first place.
Our values
Technical rigour
Every case is analysed with method, professional instrumentation and judgement built on accumulated experience.
Confidentiality
Our clients' information is theirs. We handle it with the utmost care from the moment the equipment arrives until it is returned.
Transparency
We explain clearly what we found, what the alternatives are and what outcomes are realistic, without promises we cannot keep.
Support
We understand that behind every device there is a business, a project or a personal history, and we work alongside the client at every stage.
Continuous improvement
We document and study every intervention in order to refine our procedures.
How we work
- Intake and registration: the equipment is identified and secured from the moment it arrives.
- Technical evaluation: we determine the cause of the failure and the condition of the medium.
- Plan of intervention: we define the procedure and present the client with a clear proposal.
- Recovery: the work is carried out in the laboratory.
- Verification and delivery: the recovered information is checked and handed over with a results report.
Infrastructure, confidentiality and clients
We have a technical laboratory in Caracas equipped with professional instrumentation, and protocols for handling, custody and confidentiality that protect both the equipment and our clients' information, particularly that of companies.
We apply protocols for the handling and custody of equipment and for safeguarding recovered information. Where the client requires it, we work under confidentiality agreements, which matters especially for organisations handling sensitive information.
We work mainly with companies and organisations across different sectors, as well as with individuals who need to recover information that matters to their work or their lives.
Three countries, and beyond their borders
We serve clients in Venezuela, Peru and Mexico. In Venezuela and Peru we do so through sosrecovery.com; in Mexico, alongside IT & Data Services S.A. de C.V., an allied company that operates independently and shares our technical standards, methodology and quality criteria.
In the digital world borders are no longer geographical, and the barriers to reaching a specialist service have been considerably reduced. That is why we have also worked with clients in other countries in the region, such as Colombia and Bolivia, with the same rigour, the same confidentiality and the same technical support we offer at our own sites.
