Who is responsible
Tecnología y Negocios del Caribe C.A., RIF J-31208670-0, operating under the SOS Data Recovery brand, with a laboratory in Caracas, Venezuela.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form: name, email, phone, country, type of service, urgency and your description of the problem. We use it solely to answer your enquiry and manage your case.
- Job application form: name, email, phone, area of interest and experience. We use it solely for the selection process.
- Your IP address: recorded with contact form and job application submissions, to detect automated abuse and to work out the country they were sent from. For the latter, only the IP is sent to an external geolocation service (ipapi.co); no other data is sent to it.
- Diagnostic simulator: the options you tick (type of device, symptoms and urgency level), the date and time, the page language, your IP address, and the browser and type of device you use (computer, phone or tablet). The simulator does not ask for your name or contact details. We use this for statistical purposes only, to understand which problems people are looking into and to improve the service.
- Google Analytics: anonymous browsing statistics, to understand which pages are useful. It does not identify you personally.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. We do not send marketing you did not ask for. We do not use your data for anything other than the purpose for which you sent it.
The contents of your devices
This is separate from the website data and deserves to be stated explicitly. The information contained in the equipment you entrust to us is handled under strict confidentiality, accessible only to the specialists working on your case. Once the case is closed and the data delivered, our copies are destroyed. Where your organisation requires it, we sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving any equipment.
How long we keep it, and how to have it deleted
Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to manage your case and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us about the same matter.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time, including the simulator records linked to your IP address, by writing to info@sosrecovery.com. Tell us which submission it concerns and we will confirm once it is done.
