Linux Server Data Recovery

Has a Linux server stopped booting, lost a drive, or does a volume no longer mount? We recover information from servers running Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS and other distributions, with EXT2/3/4, XFS, Btrfs, ZFS, ReiserFS and JFS file systems, LVM volumes and software RAID arrays. We first recover access to the data on each drive and extract a binary copy; then we rebuild the volume or the array, if there is one, and recover your files and databases.

When do you need this service?

  • A server that will not boot after an update, a power cut or a drive failure
  • An LVM volume or software RAID array that will not activate or has lost a drive
  • A damaged EXT4 or XFS file system that will not mount
  • A NAS with Btrfs or ZFS, such as Synology or TrueNAS, that has lost access to its volumes
  • A Proxmox virtualisation server with ZFS or LVM and damaged drives
  • Data deleted by mistake or a partition removed on a production server

Technical process

  1. You tell us what server it is (distribution, number of drives and type of array) and what happened
  2. Technical evaluation in the laboratory (it has a cost)
  3. Recovery of access to the data on each drive and extraction of a binary copy
  4. Reconstruction of the LVM volume or RAID array, if there is one, and extraction of the files
  5. Delivery of the information to the owner or to whoever you authorize

Frequently asked questions

Which file systems do you handle?

EXT2, EXT3 and EXT4, XFS, Btrfs, ZFS, ReiserFS and JFS, as well as LVM volumes and software RAID arrays (mdadm).

Do you need the server to work?

No. The drives are enough: we recover access to their data, extract a binary copy and get the files from it, even if the server does not power on.

Can you recover a Synology or TrueNAS NAS?

Yes, we study each case. These devices store information with Btrfs or ZFS spread across several drives. Send us all the drives, with the position of each one marked.

Do you recover MySQL or PostgreSQL databases from a Linux server?

Yes. We recover the database files and, if they are damaged, we work on them through our database recovery service.

What should I do in the meantime?

Do not run file system repairs (such as fsck), rebuild the array or reinstall the system: every attempt can overwrite information. Power off the server, mark the position of each drive and contact us.

Do you keep a copy of my files?

We do not keep copies of your information once the case is closed, unless you request it.

Will your Linux server not boot?

Write to us and we will get back to you straight away, 24/7/365.
